In an electrifying showdown, Newport Rugby emerged triumphant, clinching victory over Providence with a nail-biting score of 25-22 to reclaim the illustrious Rhode Island Cup. The game kicked off with Providence taking the lead, notching up 5 points on the scoreboard. However, Newport swiftly countered, mounting an impressive 22-point streak, fueled by two breathtaking long runs. But Providence wouldn't go down without a fight, staging a remarkable comeback, tallying up 17 unanswered points to level the score. In the closing moments, Newport seized the opportunity, sealing the deal with a decisive penalty kick, securing their win. The hundreds of spectators in attendance were treated to an unforgettable spectacle! Kudos to all the players and teams involved for delivering such an exhilarating match.
Newport Rugby visits Kinsale

A contingent from Newport Rugby decended on Kinsale, Ireland with over 100 Newporters, symbolizing the enduring strength of our longstanding connection.
They were overjoyed to be back in Kinsale, reconnecting with wonderful friends from this charming Irish town a! Since 1999, we've cherished the opportunity to visit as part of Kinsale's twinning with our hometown on the beautiful Atlantic coast of America. It feels like forever since our last visit, but the excitement of seeing so many familiar faces after TWENTY-FIVE amazing years of partnership and friendship is truly heartwarming.
Gathering at the prestigious Kinsale Yacht Club, the crowd spoke eloquently about the enduring bond between our two communities and the strong ties we've built over the past 25 years.
